Majority Of Tennessee Long-Term Care Facilities Contract With Temporary Staffing Agencies
During the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) public health emergency, the majority of long-term care facilities in Tennessee contracted with temporary staffing agencies, and this practice increased over time to 64% of nursing homes and 45% of assisted living communities. In 2019, 64 nursing facilities contracted with one or more staffing agencies. This increased to 120 in 2020, and 163 in 2021. During the first half of 2022, 173 nursing facilities contracted with one or more staffing agencies.
