76% Of Salt Lake City Residents With Four Or More Arrests Were Unsheltered Homeless Individuals

Among 1,021 individuals in Salt Lake City, Utah, with four or more arrests in a one-year period, 76% (783 people) were unsheltered homeless, according to data for 2025 presented to the Utah Homeless Services Board on May 5, 2026. Of the 783 unsheltered homeless people with four or more arrests in one year, 49% had been chronically homeless for at least five years. The 1,021 individuals represented 43% of all arrests in Salt Lake City, but only 12% of all individuals arrested.
