About 22% Of Commercial Insurance Plan Members Are Disenrolled Each Year
About 21.5% of commercially insured individuals covered by an Anthem individual or group plan between 2006 and 2018 were disenrolled from the commercial health plan each year. Of those who were disenrolled, within five years about one-third were again covered by an Anthem plan. More than 80% of enrollees returned to the same line of business (commercial, Medicaid Managed Care, and Medicare Advantage) within the same state.
