About 3% Of Illinois Youth Are In Recovery From Substance Use

A total of 2.9% of Illinois youth are in recovery from substance use. In comparison, 2.5% are in problem resolution-only status (PRO). Youth in PRO status had a substance use problem in the past, but they no longer have it. About 1.4% are in dual status (DS) meaning that the youth is in recovery and is resolving problems related to their substance use.

Regarding probable substance use disorders, the DS group had the lowest prevalence (15.9%), followed by the neither-nor (NN) group (16.5%), PRO (26.7%), and recovery groups (42.4%). Substance use . . .
