As California moves closer to its goal of closing the Sonoma Developmental Center (SDC) by the end of 2018, the North Bay Regional Center (NBRC) in Napa is preparing to develop a health care hub for SDC residents who transition to placements within the NRBC catchment area. The hub will feature settings and services designed for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), and offer physical health care, dental, mental health, and adaptive services that will be delivered in specialized exam rooms. Telemedicine services will also be available for individuals with long travel distances.
