AI Autism Diagnostic Software Tool Shortened Time To Diagnosis To 39 Days

Adding an artificial intelligence-based (AI) diagnostic software tool to a primary care workflow through the ECHO Autism: Early Diagnosis Program (EDx) shortened the time to autism diagnosis compared to specialty center referral, according to a recent study.

Researchers from California and Missouri enrolled children for whom a caregiver or health professional had indicated concern for developmental delay. The study included 80 children ages 18 to 72 months, 54 caregivers, and seven clinical professionals.
