Alaska Medicaid Preparing For BHO To Implement 1115 Demonstration Waiver

The Alaska Department of Health, Division of Behavioral Health is preparing to contract with a statewide behavioral health services organization (BHO) to support services available under the Alaska Substance Use Disorder and Behavioral Health Program Medicaid Section 1115 demonstration waiver. Currently, all behavioral health services are financed via fee for service. Optum currently serves as the state’s behavioral health administrative services organization.
