Alcohol-related hospitalizations among individuals with cancer in the United States increased steadily between 2016 and 2021, according to a recent study. Out of 12,027,846 non-elective hospitalizations among individuals with cancer during that period, 15,205, representing 0.126% of all admissions, were alcohol related. The number of alcohol-related admissions increased from 2,130 in 2016 to 3,200 in 2021, a 50% increase and an average growth of 185 admissions per year.
