Chinese-American Adult Children Abused As Minors Twice As Likely To Perpetrate Elder Abuse On Parents
Chinese-American adult children who were abused as minors are about 1.9 times more likely to abuse their older parents in caregiving situations compared to adult children who were not abused. The likelihood of elder abuse was higher among adult children acting as caregivers who reported that during childhood their parent had physically hurt them, insulted them, threatened them, or screamed at them.
