On May 27, 2022, the Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation, and Reentry (ADCRR) awarded NaphCare a full-risk five-year contract valued at $1.4 billion to provide health care for the state’s prison system. NaphCare will provide physician and nursing services, mental health services, and psychiatric care to inmates in state custody. The ADCRR operates 10 Arizona State Prison Complexes that currently house 34,000 inmates. The state estimates there will be 25,000 inmates annually during the contract period.
