Arizona Medicaid Adds Benefits For Non-Emergency Ridesharing
The Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) now allows rideshare companies, such as Uber and Lyft, to register as Medicaid non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) provider organizations under a newly established provider type. The policy went into effect on May 1, 2019. As a result, Lyft and Uber are now among the 171 registered NEMT transportation network companies available to AHCCCS members. Lyft and Uber participate through transportation brokers contracted with managed care organizations.
