Arizona Medicaid Issues New Long-Term Care RFP After Terminating Prior Procurement

On August 4, 2026, the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) issued a request for proposals (RFP) to select managed care organizations for the Arizona Long-Term Care System-Elderly and Physically Disabled (ALTCS-EPD) program, which currently serves about 26,000 Medicaid beneficiaries. The procurement will recompete contracts currently held by Banner-University Family Care, Mercy Care Plan, and UnitedHealthcare.
