Behavioral Health Job Growth Projected At Triple National Average Through 2033
Between 2023 and 2033, the annual job growth rate for behavioral health professionals in the United States is projected to be three times higher, rising by 12% compared to 4% for all occupations tracked by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). Job growth for the subgroup of mental health and addiction counselors is projected to increase by 19%, making it one of the 20 occupations with the highest projected employment growth rate for the 2023 to 2033 period. The workforce is projected to increase from 450,000 workers in 2023 to 534,000 workers by 2033.
