Blue Cross And Blue Shield Of Minnesota Adds Coverage Of Peer Support Specialists In Commercial Health Plans

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota (BCBSMN) is adding commercial coverage of peer support specialists for employer-sponsored commercial plans and individual plans starting January 1, 2024. Through the coverage, self-insured commercial groups will have the option to add peer specialist support coverage to the health plan benefit design. Members of plans that offer the option will be able to access peer support at no cost when the services are coordinated by an in-network provider organization.
