Blue Cross NC Value-Based Care Program Generated $153 Million In Savings, Provider Organizations Received $85 Million In Bonuses
Provider organizations participating in the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (Blue Cross NC) value-based care program, Blue Premier, generated cost savings of $153 million during the program’s first year. As a result, Blue Cross NC paid the Blue Premier participants $85 million in performance bonuses.
The first-year performance payments to provider organizations were based on quality metrics compared to a 2018 baseline.
