California Announces More Than $154 Million In Funding For New Homeless Housing
During the month of February 2022, California Governor Gavin Newsom announced on more than $154 million in funding for nine Homekey projects, and one grant. The new projects will provide 387 housing units for people experiencing or at risk of experiencing homelessness. As of early March 2022, California has awarded $470 million for more than 1,700 units across 23 county, city, and housing authority projects; and 21 corporate and city projects statewide as part of the expanded Homekey program (a key component to the Governor’s $12 billion plan to tackle homelessness).
