California's Frank D. Lanterman and Kern Regional Centers have awarded a $6.5 million grant to the Special Needs Network (SNN). The funds will be used to address critical professional staffing shortages to serve children with autism and other developmental disabilities. Specifically, the funds will allow SNN to train 200 professionals and connect them with agencies that provide critical early services for children with developmental disabilities in communities of color through a program called Creating Opportunities and Resources for Equity in Early Intervention (C.O.R.E.).
