California DDS Closes Sonoma Developmental Center
On December 17, 2018, the last resident of the Sonoma Developmental Center transitioned into a community home. The California Department of Developmental Services (DDS) had been working since May 1, 2015 to ensure the appropriate services and supports were in place for the residents who resided at Sonoma Developmental Center and a total of 356 residents have now transitioned into the community. DDS is responsible for the maintenance and oversight of the facility through June 30, 2019.
