California Agencies Moving To Competitive, Integrated Employment Services For IDD Population
Three California state agencies that serve people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) are collaborating with Disability Rights California to transform the state’s employment services to favor “competitive integrated employment,” as emphasized in the federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act. Disability Rights California announced the agreement among California Department of Rehabilitation (DOR), Department of Developmental Services (DDS), and Department of Education (CDE) on January 26, 2015.
DOR, DDS, and CDE are collaborating with Disability Rights California, the state’s protection and advocacy organization for individuals with disabilities, to prepare the state for implementing changes required by the federal Workforce . . .
