California Medicaid Managed Care Network Adequacy Regulations For Behavioral Health Released

On July 19, 2017, the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) released “Medicaid Managed Care Final Rule: Network Adequacy Standards.” The final rule will include new network adequacy standards for outpatient non-specialty and specialty mental health services, psychiatry, outpatient substance use disorder services, and opioid treatment programs. The new network standards bring the state into compliance with The Medicaid Managed Care and CHIP Managed Care Final Rule issued on April 25, 2016.
