California Governor Signs Housing Bills & Launches Proposition 1 Homekey Initiative
On September 19, 2024, the California Governor signed a legislative package of 32 bills to launch the Homekey+ Initiative in Proposition 1 to change how the state funds addiction treatment and homelessness services. The Homekey+ model emphasizes the acquisition and rehabilitation of existing buildings or other project types that can be quickly converted or constructed into permanent affordable housing.
