California I/DD Master Plan Calls For Standardizing Services Statewide
The California Health and Human Services Agency (CalHHS) plans to standardize services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) as a strategy to reduce disparities in service delivery. The effort is also intended to generally reduce barriers to receiving needed services. To support the standardization, the state also plans to implement metrics to monitor whether consumer needs are being met effectively.
CalHHS released its intentions in the Master Plan for Developmental Services: A Community-Driven Vision (MPDS). The plan’s recommendations address the following systemic goals:
