The California Department of Health Care (DHCS) is preparing to submit an amendment to its California Advancing and Innovating Medi-Cal (CalAIM) Medicaid 1115 demonstration seeking to add coverage for up to six months of transitional rent for beneficiaries who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Through this benefit, participating Medi-Cal managed care plans would be able to cover the cost of rent for eligible beneficiaries, as well as covering the cost of other housing-related services.
