California Medicaid To Cut Asset Limit For Certain Eligibility Groups To $21,000

The California Medicaid program (Medi-Cal) will cut the asset limit for a single person in certain eligibility groups from $130,000 to $21,000, effective July 1, 2027. The limit for a two-person household will fall from $195,000 to $31,000.

The asset limits apply to Medi-Cal beneficiaries whose eligibility is not determined using modified adjusted gross income (MAGI) financial rules.
