California Medicaid To Cut Asset Limit For Certain Eligibility Groups To $21,000
The California Medicaid program (Medi-Cal) will cut the asset limit for a single person in certain eligibility groups from $130,000 to $21,000, effective July 1, 2027. The limit for a two-person household will fall from $195,000 to $31,000.
The asset limits apply to Medi-Cal beneficiaries whose eligibility is not determined using modified adjusted gross income (MAGI) financial rules. This includes people age 65 and older, people with physical, mental, or developmental disabilities, nursing home residents, and some people in families whose income is too high to qualify under federal tax-based eligibility rules . . .
