California Medicaid To Eliminate Asset Tests For Long-Term Care Benefits By January 2024
By January 2024, the California Medicaid (Medi-Cal) program will eliminate the use of an asset test as a Medicaid eligibility criteria for older adults and people with disabilities to receive long-term care benefits. Starting July 1, 2022, the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) will begin a phased implementation to eventually eliminate the asset limit.
