California Medicaid To Pay For Trauma Screenings Beginning January 1, 2020

California Medicaid (Medi-Cal) will begin reimbursing for trauma screenings for child and adult beneficiaries. Starting January 1, 2020, professionals who complete trauma training will be eligible to receive the supplemental payment for conducting trauma screenings. Professionals will have until July 1, 2020, to attest that training has been completed. The screenings will also be covered in the fee-for-service (FFS) system at a rate of $29 per screening.
