California Mental Health Services Authority Seeks Alternatives To State Hospital Beds
The California Mental Health Services Authority (CalMHSA) is actively seeking alternatives to state hospital beds. Since August 2015, CalMHSA had been working under a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Correct Care Recovery Solutions (CCS) to identify alternatives and assess the feasibility of creating a privately-run psychiatric hospital that would create inpatient capacity as an alternative to state hospital beds. In Southern California, CalMHSA staff and CCS met with Los Angeles County and other participating area counties to assess potential sites for the proposed facility.
