California Reports School Districts Have Billed $1.8 Million Through The Student Behavioral Health Initiative
The California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) has enrolled more than 500 public K-12 schools and public institutions of higher education (IHE) to receive reimbursement for providing mental health screenings, treatment, and case management, creating a sustainable funding source for school-based care, according to a recent announcement.
Reimbursement happens through the multi-payer Children and Youth Behavioral Health Initiative (CYBHI) Fee Schedule program, which is intended to create a more seamless experience for youth seeking help with mental health.
