California School Districts Have Billed $1.8 Million Through The Student Behavioral Health Initiative

California’s local education agencies (LEAs) and institutions of higher education (IHEs) participating in the multi-payer Children and Youth Behavioral Health Initiative (CYBHI) Fee Schedule program have billed $1.8 million during their first year for school-based mental health screenings, treatment, and case management. The services are reimbursed by Medi-Cal (Medicaid) managed care plans and other payers, including commercial plans, according to the CYBHI Fee Schedule program.
