California Selects Six Companies To Manufacture Cabin-Sized Homeless Shelters As Temporary Solution

California Governor Gavin Newsom’s administration has selected six builders to make and deliver a total of 1,200 tiny homes to Sacramento, Los Angeles, San Diego, and San Jose as a temporary solution to homelessness in these cities. The tiny homes will be set up in “villages” that provide on-site supportive services. The state anticipates that this project will cost $30 million. The funding is through the $1 billion in Homeless Housing, Assistance and Prevention (HHAP) Round 4 funding.
