California To Create Single-Payer Health Care System
On October 7, 2023, California Governor Gavin Newsom signed legislation to enact a single payer health care system for the state. The system covers a comprehensive package of medical, behavioral health, long-term services and supports, pharmaceutical, dental, and vision benefits, and the absence of cost sharing for essential services and treatments.
