California To End Incarceration For Girls

The California Health & Human Services Agency (CHHSA) Office of Youth and Community Restoration (OYCR) is working with the Vera Institute of Justice to help counties end their use of incarceration for juvenile offenders who are girls and "gender expansive". The Vera Institute of Justice is creating a statewide technical assistance effort, Ending Girls’ Incarceration (EGI), in the California Action Network, which will help four county probation offices implement county-specific equitable policies and gender-responsive programs for girls and gender-expansive youth.
