California’s Judicial Council Offers $13 Million To State Courts Seeking To Implement Or Enhance Treatment Courts
California’s Judicial Council offered $13 million to state superior courts to implement new, or enhance existing, “state crisis intervention court proceedings” including mental health courts, drug courts, treatment-mandated felony courts, veteran treatment courts and related programs or initiatives that work to keep guns out of the hands of those who pose a threat to themselves or others. The funding is through the Byrne State Crisis Intervention Program (Byrne SCIP), which provides grant funding for these state crisis intervention court proceedings.
