California’s San Bernardino County Child & Family Services Sued On Behalf Of 5,800 Foster Children
On May 25, 2023, child welfare advocates sued San Bernardino County Child & Family Services (CFS) and the California Department of Social Services (CDSS) alleging that the county’s child welfare system is “irretrievably broken and in need of systemic reform.” The complaint was filed on behalf of 11 named plaintiffs, representing a general class of more than 5,800 children in the county’s foster care system.
