CareOregon Develops A Culturally Specific Behavioral Health Payment Model
CareOregon announced a new culturally specific alternative payment model for behavioral health services. The new model, which is intended to reflect the time required to engage members of minorities communities, will be deployed in CareOregon's Medicaid managed care plans and possibly in its Medicare Advantage plans in Oregon.
The model has two elements:
- Enhanced fee-for-service (FFS) payments for treatment of beneficiaries who are members of minority populations. The enhanced FFS payment schedule is the same for all provider organizations. The enhanced FFS payment augments the payment structure used in 2021.
- New community outreach . . .
