CareSource Georgia Cuts Medicaid ABA Rates 20%
CareSource Georgia, a Medicaid managed care organization (MCO), is reducing reimbursement for certain Medicaid applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy provider organizations by 20%, effective May 11, 2026. A notification of the rate cut was sent on March 27, and provider organizations had 45 days to file objections. The health plan made no changes to ABA prior authorization requirements or billing guidelines.
Medicaid MCOs in other states are also cutting reimbursement rates for ABA. In some states, reductions to the in-network rates must be approved by the state Medicaid program.
