Casper, Wyoming Municipal Court Establishes A Mental Health Diversion Program
The city attorney in Casper and Central Wyoming Counseling Center have launched a pilot program with the city Municipal Court to divert misdemeanor offenders with serious mental illness (SMI) into treatment rather than incarceration. The initial program was piloted in October 2024, and the Casper Municipal Court Diversion program was established effective January 1, 2025. The city attorney, Eric K.
