CBT Enhances Mental Well-Being & Quality Of Life For People In Cancer Treatment
People diagnosed with cancer who received cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to address depression or anxiety had moderate improvement in their mental health and quality of life (QoL) compared to people with cancer who received standard therapy, were on a waitlist, or received an alternative therapy. This was the key finding of a meta-analysis of 132 studies that reported mental health and QoL outcomes for children and adults with cancer who received CBT either in-person, a technology-assisted approach, a pre-programmed technology-only intervention, or a combination of approaches.
