Centurion Detention Awarded Volusia County Florida Correctional Medical Services Contract

On August 27, 2018, Centene announced that the Volusia County Florida Council voted to award Centurion Detention Health Services, LLC (Centurion) a contract to provide comprehensive health care services to detainees of the county's detention facilities located near Daytona, Florida. The new contract is expected to start January 1, 2019, with a base term of five years, plus five one-year renewal options. The contract is valued at $7.6 million in its first year of 2019. The contract was previously held by Armor Correctional Health Services.
