Children With Chronic Health Conditions & Social Needs Had More Than Five Times The Rate Of Elevated School Absenteeism
Children with chronic health conditions or health-related social needs (HRSNs) were five times more likely to experience elevated school absenteeism due to illness or injury than peers without those challenges, according to a recent study. Children with chronic health needs alone had an estimated 4.4% probability of elevated health-related absenteeism, defined as missing 11 or more school days. Those with HRSNs alone had a 3.7% probability.
