Cigna-HealthSpring Partners With Telcare For Texas Medicaid Mobile Diabetes Monitoring Program
On February 18, 2015, Cigna-HealthSpring announced it had partnered with Telcare to provide a mobile diabetes monitoring program for Cigna’s Texas Medicaid STAR+PLUS membership with poorly controlled diabetes. The program will launch in Tarrant County. Cigna will assess expansion into the other 49 counties its STAR+PLUS plan covers.
Telcare will deliver remote monitoring and engagement services via its cellular-enabled blood glucose monitor (BGM) device. The device connects to nationwide cell networks to automatically send glucose readings to a secure, cloud-based server. The upload triggers feedback and coaching for the individual using the device.
