City Of Los Angeles To Develop Comprehensive Strategy To Address Homelessness Crisis
On September 22, 2015, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti announced that the city would begin developing a comprehensive strategy to address its homelessness crisis. The city intends to invest at least $100 million annually to help house tens of thousands of homeless individuals. In the short-term, the city is implementing a strategy to secure an additional $13 million in emergency funding to expand homeless services and housing. Most of that short-term emergency funding, $10 million, will be allocated to veterans and non-chronically homeless people in the form of housing subsidies.
