Cityblock’s Community Health Worker Model Nets 11% Lower Total Cost Of Care For Medicaid Population With Serious Mental Illnesses
Cityblock’s model of care led by specialized community health workers, the Advanced Behavioral Health (ABH) program, resulted in a 19.7% decrease in inpatient utilization and an 11.5% decrease in total per-member, per-month cost of care. The results were from a 10-month pilot with a Medicaid health plan in the District of Columbia starting in 2022.
