CMS Approves Arizona Medicaid Waiver For Health-Related Social Needs & Housing

On October 14, 2022, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announced approval of the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) Section 1115 waiver that includes interventions to target health-related social needs and housing. The waiver’s Housing and Health Opportunities (H2O) program will provide services to support stable housing, housing for individuals transitioning out of institutionalized care, and up to six months of rent and temporary housing for individuals moving from congregate settings, homeless shelters, or the child welfare system. The waiver is approved through September 30, 2027.
