On June 26, 2025, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) approved Minnesota’s request to amend its Minnesota Prepaid Medical Assistance Project Plus (PMAP+) section 1115 demonstration. Minnesota sought the amendment in support of a small group of former foster youth who turned 18 before December 31, 2022, who were not included by a provision of the Substance Use-Disorder Prevention that Promotes Opioid Recovery and Treatment for Patients and Communities (SUPPORT) Act of 2018 that extended Medicaid eligibility to former foster youth who turned 18 after that date.
