CMS Approves North Dakota Plan To Increase Access To 1915(i) HCBS Behavioral Health Services
On December 27, 2021, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) approved changes to the North Dakota Department of Human Services (DHS) Medicaid 1915(i) state plan amendment (SPA) to create a more robust network for home and community-based services (HCBS) for behavioral health. The changes include a reduction in the eligibility criteria to allow more people to qualify for the services. Provider organization qualifications were changed for pre-vocational training, supported education, and supported employment to permit more to enroll to provide services. The changes were effective January 1, 2022.
