On December 27, 2021, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) approved changes to the North Dakota Department of Human Services (DHS) Medicaid 1915(i) state plan amendment (SPA) to create a more robust network for home and community-based services (HCBS) for behavioral health. The changes include a reduction in the eligibility criteria to allow more people to qualify for the services. Provider organization qualifications were changed for pre-vocational training, supported education, and supported employment to permit more to enroll to provide services.
