Washington Medicaid Waiver Approved With Payment For IMDs For Addiction

On July 17, 2018, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) approved a Washington State Medicaid 1115 waiver request to launch an addiction treatment demonstration project. The demonstration will run through December 31, 2021. The Washington State Health Care Authority (HCA) plans to build upon a continuum of outpatient, residential, and inpatient services for adult Medicaid beneficiaries diagnosed with opiate use disorder (OUD) and/or other substance use disorders (SUD).
