CMS Delays Enforcement Of Medicaid HCBS Fee-For-Service Grievance Requirements From July 2026 To December 2027
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) will delay enforcement of a key provision in its 2024 Medicaid “Ensuring Access to Medicaid Services” rule (Access Rule) governing home- and community-based services (HCBS), giving states additional time to implement fee-for-service (FFS) grievance system requirements.
Enforcement of the requirement, originally scheduled to begin July 9, 2026, has been postponed until December 31, 2027.
