CMS Launches New Acute Care Hospital-At-Home Waiver Program
On November 25, 2020, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) implemented a waiver for its new Acute Hospital-At-Home waiver program. The new program provides regulatory flexibilities to allow eligible hospitals to treat eligible consumers in their homes. The waiver is only in effect for the duration of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) Public Health Emergency that began in March 2020.
